Hello there!

I live in Nova Scotia, Canada with my husband, two children, two step-children, and our beloved beagle, Bella.

I’m in my mid-forties, and have had my share of fresh starts in life, including divorce and “blending” a family.

I consider myself a financial “late bloomer”. I discovered YNAB and zero-based budgeting in 2020 and haven’t looked back!

Life is busy, but since I have taken control of my money and figured out a plan to reach my financial goals, money isn't the huge stressor that it used to be.

Here are a few of the financial goals I’ve reached during the past few years:

  • I have gotten off of the paycheck-to-paycheck cycle, pay day is now a bit of a non-event (although it sure is fun to give those new dollars a job).

  • I have paid off a lot debt. Goodbye to those monthly interest payments.

  • I save for Christmas throughout the year. November sales, here I come.

  • We have an emergency fund for Bella, instead of paying for expensive pet insurance.

  • I save for my children’s activities well in advance. When the big bills come, I just pay them.

  • I know how much I would like to save for retirement and have a plan to get there.
