The forsythia’s are ALMOST blooming (and why I get all excited about that).

Nova Scotia is going to be awash in yellow soon as the forsythia shrubs bloom. Hooray! The bright yellow blooms only last for a few weeks but they bring a bit of colour into our landscapes after a long winter. I also find it so neat how they can be propagated from cuttings.

Forsythia in bloom

During a particularly difficult time of my life, a good friend brought me some forsythia cuttings. I put them in some pots and moved them into the ground the following spring. After a few years, they began producing the bright yellow flowers. It was all very symbolic!

The forsythia in the Fresh Start Budgeting logo represents, you guessed it, making a fresh start when it comes to money both in day-to-day budgeting and overall money management. It also represents life’s fresh starts, like life after divorce or getting married for a second time. It might all be a much, but I like it 😄.

I don’t think I’ll be able to pass a forsythia this spring without thinking about budgeting .. Weird? Maybe a little.
